Just for fun Easter Card

Here are some pics of a quick little card a whipped up this morning for my little sister (who is about to be a mommy for the first time, yay)! Just a bit of Kraft embossed with a Tim folder and distressed, a quick dusting of perfect pearls over an image from Tim Holtz (do you see a pattern appearing, I might have a slight obsession with all things Tim Holtz) seasonal stash, some twine and we're done!

Easter Card as cure for Insomnia?

Hello friends. So I couldn't sleep last night (those of you that know me know this is not seems since having babies I am ALWAYS exhausted, yet have an extremely difficult time getting to sleep WHEN I SHOULD. Now, I can fall asleep at the drop of a dime, at 2 in the afternoon, or 8 in the morning...but it's like my mind and body are on a completely different clock). Anyway, enough about my sleeping schedule (although it's obviously interesting, or I wouldn't write about it, lol), and more about crafts! As I was getting ready for bed I decided that maybe it would help to make a little something, and seeing how Easter is in a couple days and I am not prepared (surprise surprise!) I settled on messing around a bit with an Easter Card. So I got out some Kraft card stock, some stamps, distress ink and stencils and came up with a cute little Tim Holtz-ian grungy yet spring-ish background. I liked how it turned out, but it definitely needed something more, so I dug out some Clearly for Art (I am in love with this stuff) and some Tim's Sizzix dies and viola! on went some cute little butterflies to balance out the ticket sentiment! Hope you guys like it. I am going to throw this one in over at both of the the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blogs
and at Craft Hoarders Anonymous here:
and lastly at Vintage Stamping Challenges here:

PS I just realized how terrible these pictures are if you don't click on them. If you want to see the stamping/embossing detail, or a clearer picture of what the butterflies look like, pls just click on the pic to enlarge it enough to see the detail.

Paper Bag Mini Pics

So my pictures of the Paper Bag mini didn't upload for some reason, so here goes round two...

This project is being entered in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Winged Things
The SSS Wednesday Challenge Animal Antics

Let's hope this works; )

Mini Paperbag Book

So coming off of a really bad creative block, and a serious lack of craft time, I have been forcing myself to both craft a little bit everyday, AND (this is the huge challenge for me) complete whatever project I start BEFORE investing significant time in another project. This means that no matter how tired or worn out or uncreative I feel I make myself work in my craft corner for at least 15 minutes, but more importantly I have also been forcing myself to finish what I start. This is a hard thing for me for me to do, I love to start bigger projects and then abandon them when I come to a block, or do something I don't like, or come to a point where I don't have a lot of time to be crafty (with 3 little ones this happens more often then I'd like). Anyway, the product of these "new rules" is a little paper bag mini that I finished. I can tell you right now that I would have stopped this project several times, had I not been forcing myself to finish it. To be honest, it is not my favorite project, and I definitely feel it does not represent my best work, by any means, however I am glad I finished it and there are a few elements that I actually really like. Okay enough complaining and chit/chat here are some pictures of the album...Although I don't love it, I will be entering it in a couple challenges...

I think this little album has enough little birds and butterflies to fit both of the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog Challenges this week...

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy...
